Broadband wireless.

An ideal option for anyone with internet connection:

• No data cables to the LED display, no connection to install inside or on your building.
• Allow Discount LED Displays to access your LED sign for diagnostic and programming support.

RF (Radio Frequency) wireless.

The most popular option for our customers. This type of connection works best when your computer and your LED display are within one mile of each other and have a clear line of sight between them:

• Uses low-wattage radio signals to transmit data.
• Minimal cable and line-routing necessary.

Phone modem.

This is ideal for sending data from a remote location to a single or multiple signs:

• Requires a standard dial-up phone modem in the LED display as well as in your computer.
• Allow Discount LED Displays to access your LED sign for diagnostic and programming support.
• Temp senor mounts on the LED display.

Fiber Optic.

This is the option preferred by professional engineers for its high-speed transmission and large data handling capability:

• Glass strands are impervious to lighting and other electrical disturbances.
• Underground or aerial fibers are available.
• Data cables can run in same conduit as power wires.
• Fiber optics are required to run live video. This is preferred for large pixel LED displays.

Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).

This connection option is popular among larger organizations. Computer communicates with the LED display through the user’s corporate computers/Ethernet network.

• The LED display is controlled from anywhere on the company network and remotely via the Wide Area Network (WAN).
• Compatible with RF wireless and fiber optic cable. Phone modem is not an option.
• Temp senor is mounted on the LED display.
